About Amanda
Unlike many others in my field, I did not end up where I am today because I was seeking a spiritual life. It was actually the furthest thing from my mind when I was thrust into it fifteen years ago but I’m glad I ended up here. It’s rewarding and there is never a dull moment.
Having grown up in church, I always felt like a misfit. Something just didn’t jive with how I thought about things and I always assumed there was something wrong with me because I didn’t feel the same way about it as everyone else.
I never really took it that seriously and even flunked out of Bible Drill (a scripture competition), which is really hard to do by the way.
I was always more science-minded, and felt a deep connection to nature and that’s where the spirit was for me. I was more comfortable feeling the pulse of the Universe under a tree than when I was in a pew.
